BUWW
offers bellows for machine locations that will not have heavy
chip exposure, but still need to protect the sensitive components
of the machine. Bellows offer protection from contaminates while
applying little resistance to the machine's movement. Metal
plates can be attached to the bellows if exposed to a light
chip environment.
Fabric
bellows are produced with the highest quality material available.
For a given application, bellows can be configured for specific
requirements.
Bellows
can be mounted horizontally, vertically or in a cross-rail
direction to complete the protection of your machine. Typical
machine types that use bellows are: laser cutters, plasma
cutters, water jet, measuring machines, lift tables, milling
machines, and lathes.
Horizontal
Mounting
- Bellows
set on ways and use gravity to hold it in place
- To
prevent a "caterpillar" effect in small bellows
traveling long distances, the bellows can have tabs cut
into the PVC frames to clip onto the rails.
Vertical
Mounting
Bellows
are mounted in the vertical position and will be located between
the rails and the working area of the machine.
- PVC
frames have notches to attach to the rails, preventing gaps
from forming between the rails and the bellows.
- Bellows
wrap around the rails or guide ways for complete protection
from both sides.
- BUWW
bellows come in any size or shape with many materials to
help you solve your protection needs
Cross-Rail Mounting
Bellows
mounted in the cross-rail position will have one guide rail
above the other. In covering these types of rail alignments
the bellows will be located between the rails and the working
area of the machine. Bellows have the same features as
vertical mounting bellows. Our experienced engineering staff
will help with the design and in solving your problems.
BUWW offers two different types of Metal Covered Bellows with
the plates fixed to the bellows and with a joint between the
plates and the bellows.

Fixed
Plate Bellows
- BUWW
fastens the fixed plate to the bellows without the
use of adhesives. This method allows the plates to
remain under pressure in the presence of coolant,
which may loosen adhesives.

Metal
Covered Bellows
When
to use Metal Covered Bellows
- Hot
chips are present
- Weld
splatter may damage or burn fabric
- Room
would not allow the use of a
telescoping steel cover
